MediateBot is an AI-powered mediation platform that helps find common ground between two positions on any issue. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Information We Collect

MediateBot does not require an account. We collect minimal data:

• Mediation topics and positions you submit for analysis.
• Session data via a cookie-based user identifier to associate you with your mediation history.
• Mediation history is stored in our database so you can revisit past sessions.

We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal information.

AI Processing

MediateBot uses the Anthropic Claude API to analyze positions, generate mediation insights, and facilitate dialogue.

• What is sent: Your mediation topic, the two positions, and conversation history are sent to Anthropic's API to generate analysis and responses.
• Training: Anthropic's commercial API data is not used to train their AI models.
• Retention: Data sent through the API is not retained by Anthropic beyond a 7-day safety window, after which it is automatically deleted.
• Local storage: We store mediation history in our database so you can return to previous sessions.

We also use the Brave Search API for optional topic research. Search queries related to your mediation topic may be sent to Brave. See Brave's Privacy Policy.

Cookies

We use a session cookie for basic site functionality and a cookie-based identifier to associate you with your mediation history. No third-party tracking cookies are used.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Data is only shared with the service providers described above, strictly to operate MediateBot.

Data Retention

Mediation records are retained indefinitely so you can revisit them. Since no personal information is collected, these records are not linked to your identity beyond your browser cookie.

Security

We use HTTPS encryption and secure server infrastructure to protect data in transit and at rest.

Children's Privacy

MediateBot is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
